To be very frank, I am a very big fan of breads πŸ˜› It was always a dream to bake a delicious healthy bread myself for I know that the store bought ones are having artificial gluten and other preservatives. But, following a recipe is not easy for a bread. Trick here is entirely in the kneading and proofing process which I was unaware. So, here comes the savior Dhivya due to whose class, I was able to bake yummy tutti fruity bread!! Here you go, enjoy the recipe, pics and your trials πŸ˜›

Yeast – 2 tsps

Water – 1 cup

All purpose flour – 1 1/2 cups

All purpose flour(for dusting) – 1/2 cup

Wheat flour – 1 1/2 cups

Sugar – 6 tbsps

Salt – 1 1/2 tsps

Milk – 1/4 cup

Tutti Fruity – 3 tbsps

Oil – 5 tbsps

  1. Heat water in a vessel on the stove top till it is mild hot.
  2. To a tall glass add 1 tbsp sugar and yeast.
  3. To this put the Luke warm water and give it a quick stir
  4. Let the Yeast raise for 10 minutes
  5. Add all the dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl
  6. Add milk, oil, yeast mixture to this
  7. Using a strong spatula mix the batter consistently, yet hold and steady till all the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated and a sticky dough is formed
  8. To a clean table/ kitchen counter, sprinkle some flour and drop the sticky dough
  9. Knead the dough for 12 mins [press the dough -> push -> pull it together using your palm] to develop gluten
  10. Finish of the dough with a sprinkle of flour to lift up the dough and put it back to the bowl for raising
  11. After it doubles in size, punch down the air and knead the dough again on the kitchen counter for 5 mins
  12. Grease the loaf tin with oil and place the dough with a neat surface on top, brush it with milk and let it raise until it doubles in size.
  13. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 C for 30 mins or until the top is golden brown and crusty
  14. Let it cool completely to remove from the tin and slice it πŸ™‚

yummy-tutti-fruity-bread-recipe-1024x1024-1I tried even whole wheat bread and it turns out delicious and soft. You just have to replace APF with whole wheat flour

Eventhough it is hard to prepare, when your family loves it, it gives you an immense pleasure πŸ™‚
